Our Healthcare Expertise.

Our Healthcare Expertise.

Delivering Quality in Healthcare across the UK.

Delivering the Next Generation of Hospitals.

When it comes to Building Services and Sustainability design for healthcare facilities, we offer a comprehensive solution, serving as both Full Design Roles Provider and Technical Advisor. Our expertise covers the full spectrum of healthcare facilities, from Primary and Secondary to Tertiary Care developments, including active involvement in supporting Health in the Community initiatives.

With over 200 MEP specialists across 9 UK offices and fully integrated building services, sustainability and BIM capability in-house – Wallace Whittle is one of the few UK engineering consultancies to have designed a major new acute hospital in recent years.

Our recent experience in delivering the circa 145,000m2 Monklands major new acute hospital in Lanarkshire, including KSAR compliance and complex healthcare systems, demonstrates our resource capability and knowledge led expertise to support contractors and NHS clients in delivering large-scale, high-risk healthcare projects and infrastructure with confidence.

“Wallace Whittle has been an instrumental partner in our journey towards a sustainable Net Zero hospital. During scheme development, their expertise and collaboration in MEP design, combined with a deep understanding of us as a client and the wider healthcare sector, makes them an invaluable asset. As we progress through the project from design to construction, I am confident having Wallace Whittle as a part of our team will help ensure our vision becomes a reality.”

What sets us apart?

Recent major hospital delivery experience
We are one of the few consultancies with current experience delivering the engineering design of a major new acute hospital. That matters in a market where many teams are preparing to deliver £1bn-plus healthcare infrastructure.

A safe pair of hands in a high-stakes environment
Hospitals are among the most complex and heavily regulated building types. We help clients and contractors manage that complexity through robust MEP design, technical assurance and coordinated delivery support.

Integrated MEP and sustainability expertise
We combine building services engineering with practical sustainability strategy, helping delivery teams balance performance, resilience, compliance and NHS Net Zero requirements.

Support for repeatable and standardised delivery
As healthcare programmes move towards more repeatable models, we help develop building services approaches that improve consistency, reduce variation risk and strengthen delivery confidence across the estate.

From advisory to delivery
We act as both Full Design Provider and Technical Advisor, supporting projects from strategy and concept through to detailed design, coordination, commissioning and handover.

Through this approach we support programme-level consistency in healthcare building services delivery, helping deliver complex healthcare infrastructure with greater certainty.
