Charing Cross Gateway
Charing Cross Gateway represents a bold and transformative step in the regeneration of Glasgow’s west end, delivering a landmark Purpose-Built Student Accommodation scheme.
Positioned at a key entry point into the city centre, the development enhances pedestrian connectivity with Charing Cross train station and introduces a revitalised public realm that supports both community engagement and commuter access. This 620-bed student accommodation scheme forms the first phase of a £250 million masterplan led by CxG Glasgow. The wider Charing Cross Gateway vision aims to deliver a once-in-a-generation transformation of the west side of the city centre, combining residential, student living, and commercial opportunities in a dynamic urban setting.
We are delivering full MEP engineering services alongside comprehensive sustainability consultancy, including daylighting analysis, whole life carbon assessment, and the development of a robust energy strategy. The project is also targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating. Sustainability is embedded throughout the design, with features such as air source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels integrated to reduce operational carbon.
With enhanced public spaces and improved links to transport infrastructure, Charing Cross Gateway sets a new benchmark for sustainable urban regeneration in Glasgow.
