Aycliffe Secure Care

The facility includes 32 secure bedrooms with en-suites, 6 high-dependency (DDA-compliant) bedrooms, vocational and general education classrooms, physical education and leisure facilities, a central laundry and kitchen, administration offices, and staff areas. The leisure block features a large games hall, swimming pool, fully equipped fitness suite, and changing rooms, while external facilities include a floodlit artificial 5-a-side football pitch.

Security is paramount, with a fully integrated system comprising CCTV, door access control, staff alarms with two-way communication, bedroom call systems, and perimeter detection. All systems are monitored and controlled via a central control hub equipped with dual GUIs for seamless operation.

Sustainability was also a key focus, with a biomass boiler providing primary heating, supported by gas-fired boilers for backup.
