The Bush House redevelopment is transforming a landmark Grade II listed building at the heart of King’s College London’s Strand Campus into a future-focused hub for learning and innovation. The £130 million project will deliver a new Student Centre, Digital and AI teaching spaces, flexible study and social areas, and a 160-seat Agora designed to bring people together.
Wallace Whittle is providing MEP and sustainability consultancy, supporting the project from detailed design through construction. Our team has developed coordinated engineering solutions to integrate modern building services within the historic structure, including a carefully designed basement hub and a new photovoltaic array sensitively incorporated into the building’s mansard roof.
The fully electric development is targeting BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum, alongside ambitious embodied carbon targets. By combining low-carbon engineering with flexible learning spaces, Bush House demonstrates how historic buildings can be reimagined for a more sustainable future.
