Inverclyde Integrated Community Hub, Greenock

The Inverclyde Integrated Community Hub is a purpose-built £10 million community care facility developed for Inverclyde Council and Inverclyde Health & Social Care Partnership. Located on the former Hector McNeil Baths site in central Greenock, the hub provides modern, integrated support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs, promoting independence, wellbeing and accessibility through specialist therapy, learning and community spaces.

Wallace Whittle delivered the mechanical and electrical engineering design, helping to create a flexible, high-quality environment tailored to the needs of its users. The facility includes rebound therapy and physiotherapy areas, immersive therapy spaces, life-skills training facilities, therapeutic outdoor spaces and a dedicated autism-friendly zone, all designed in collaboration with service users, carers and healthcare professionals.

Developed using a fabric-first approach, the timber-frame building incorporates roof-mounted solar PV to reduce operational energy demand and carbon emissions while supporting Inverclyde Council’s wider net zero ambitions. By regenerating a long-vacant brownfield site, the project delivers lasting environmental and social value, creating a future-ready facility that will support the local community for years to come.
