Job Title: Trainee BIM/Revit Technician
Directly reports to: BIM Manager

Location: UK Wide
Position Summary:
An individual looking to build a career in the construction industry as a Revit/BIM Technician. The ideal candidate would have a keen interest in computers/technology and will develop the skills required to produce coordinated data-rich 3D models. The role provides an opportunity to work alongside and assist experienced technicians/engineers to deliver large scale construction projects. The selected candidate would gain skills in many BIM applications such as Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD.
Responsibilities and authority:
- Assisting experienced team with development of 3D co-ordinated BIM models using Autodesk Revit software.
- Learning to use of Autodesk Autocad to create dimensionally accurate 2D CAD drawings.
- Using Navisworks for coordination and clash detection purposes.
- Liaising with engineers to solve issues and ensure that models co-ordinate.
- Set up drawings and x-refs for engineers’ use.
- Learning to implement best practice procedures to Wallace Whittle BIM and CAD standards.
- Learning the BIM processes and standards to deliver construction projects.
- Managing drawing and document control processes including uploading/issuing design information.
- Assisting with the organisation of BIM information.
Education and Experience:
- High School Education

Essential:
- Good personal time management skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines both individually and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Be self-motivated, pro-active, ambitious and keen to continually learn and improve
- Flexible working attitude
- Basic computer skills
Desirable:
- Keen interest in computing technology
- College education (HNC or better)
Relevant training (internal) will be made available to the suitable candidate
