Job Title: ESG/Sustainability Consultant
Directly reports to: Sustainability Director
No of Direct Reports: 0
Location: UK based role, includes occasional travel to other WW UK locations

Position Summary:

Due to expanding our services, we are looking for a proficient and self-motivated ESG/Sustainability consultant, with a track record of consistent project delivery and competent specialist knowledge. The successful candidate will have a passion to develop and consolidate their knowledge and skills, aiming to become an expert in their chosen specialism.

The sustainability team provide a range of sustainability services direct to client organisations, external consultant teams, contractors, as well as to our own Wallace Whittle MEP teams. The ESG team develop, govern, and deliver bespoke frameworks and other services across our client base at project and organisational level.

  • Adopting a responsible attitude to and actively undertake training
  • Regularly reviewing personal programme workload. Develop and frequently review priority lists of programmed tasks
  • Ensuring application and maintenance of all Quality System procedures
  • Carrying out all personal management duties including weekly recording of man-hour commitments to individual projects
  • Complying with all security procedures and commercial in-confidence restrictions associated with work duties
  • Contributing to the maintenance of the highest possible standards of design and reporting by developing a good working knowledge of proven building services systems and new developments in the Building Services industry
  • Providing support to ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the relevant ISO and national legislation
  • Providing support to ensure contract compliance with the Integrated Management System, by supporting the administration of the Internal Audit programme, corrective action and customer feedback registers
  • Complying with strategy and actions which encourage and produce a safe working environment for all staff and which reduce the impact to the environment

Responsibilities and authority:

  • Review and develop client ESG Frameworks or other Sustainability services, taking on board developments of current legislative and industry benchmarks.
  • Draw from a network of contacts to realise business development opportunities for ESG / Sustainability and related services.
  • To embed ESG / Sustainability within an organisation and throughout projects from the outset.
  • Support improving existing or developing new strategies
  • Provide relevant assessments for construction projects from planning through to completion
  • Engage relevant stakeholders to support the delivery of ESG / sustainability targets, aims, and objectives.
  • Manage project delivery and progress tracking using the relevant methods and tools.
  • Produce reports and presentations, providing clear data and information effectively.
  • Support internal and external meetings (invitations, minute taking, follow up).
  • Oversee and complete administrative tasks as and when required.
  • To encourage reflection and effective innovation across all areas of an organisation.

Specific skills, knowledge, competencies and training

Core:

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Able to produce concise verbal and written reports to a good standard of English
  • Competent with Microsoft Office
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Happy to work in local office and travel to other offices when required
  • Good communication skills, coupled with a flexible and proactive approach to work

Essential:

  • BSc/MSc degree in Sustainability, Energy, Building Services, Architecture or similar

OR

  • Have relevant work experience and a genuine passion and interest within the field of Sustainability/ESG and the build environment
  • Training and experience to provide third party certification services (BREEAM, WELL, etc) and other similar sustainability assessment methodologies is essential
  • Experience with planning support documents

Desirable:

  • Training and experience in OneClick LCA is favourable
  • Have knowledge of dynamic simulation software such as IES VE or DesignBuilder
  • Good knowledge level of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Gain expert understanding of ESG / Sustainability across the built environment
  • Gain deeper understanding of certification and assessment methodologies
  • Train to become a qualified assessor, auditor, modeller
  • Learn about all areas of ESG / Sustainability consultancy, including net zero, nature based solutions, ethical sourcing and others.
