Job Title: BIM Technician
Directly reports to: BIM Manager
No of Direct Reports: 0
Location: Aberdeen

Position Summary:

BIM Technician with experience of producing 3D models and data associated with MEP services design, to work alongside local office BIM team and engineers.  The role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work on some large, innovative projects that Wallace Whittle are currently involved in.

Responsibilities and authority:

  • Production of accurate 2D CAD drawings
  • Production of accurate 3D BIM modelling and co-ordination of services using Autodesk Revit software
  • Liaising with engineers to assist in the finalised details of co-ordinated modelling of projects
  • Set up drawings and x-refs for engineers’ use
  • Implement best practice procedures to Company CAD standards
  • Assist or lead in BIM project meetings

Education and Experience:

  • Two years’ experience as a MEP BIM Technician, with a contractor or consultant
  • Experience in the production of building services drawings and associated co-ordination exercises

Specific skills, knowledge, competencies and training

Essential:

  • Autodesk Revit, CAD & Navisworks skills
  • Good personal time management skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines both individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Be self-motivated, pro-active, ambitious and keen to continually learn and improve
  • Flexible working attitude

Desirable:

  • Use of BIM standard ISO 19650 and BG6
  • Understanding and use of project BEP and CDE
  • COBie data drops and classification systems
  • Experience in project management
  • University level of education
  • Interest in computers

Relevant training (internal) will be made available to the suitable candidate
