An Update From Norn Iron...

Since playing our part in the relaunch of Wallace Whittle, our team in Belfast has focussed on building on our solid foundations and doing our part in the global efforts to build a sustainable future. As such, we are thrilled to report that our office continues to thrive and grow.
Below are just some of our team’s highlights over the past six months:

•   With Belfast now being our central office for Ireland there has been a renewed sense of vigour within all our staff. We are pleased to report that we have ongoing plans for continued organic growth and expansion.

•   The office is currently involved in some fantastic projects in both the UK and Ireland, and we are currently working across all key market sectors.

•   Low carbon, energy efficient projects continue to be a top priority. We are well prepared for the upcoming changes to the Northern Building Regulations to integrate NZEB methodologies.

•   Our team of passionate, qualified Chartered engineers are all well versed in both traditional and ‘design and build’ projects and we provide the full suite of MEP
and sustainability services including BREEAM, IES L5 thermal modelling, Building Physics analysis, etc.

Repeat business is our key driver for demonstrating the quality of our service delivery; as a fully certified BIM L2 team, we collaborate fully and seamlessly with all project team members.

Our Projects

•   We are currently delivering well in excess of £100m construction value of education projects across multiple primary, secondary and SEN schools throughout the UK and Ireland.

•   Commercial offices are another specialism. A significant recent completion was the€50m office development at Dublin Airport Central. We have been BT’s preferred consultant for many years, assisting with developing all their existing office spaces, with two live projects currently ongoing.

•   We have completed the MEP design for the new Driver Vehicle Test Centre and Administration building at Hydebank in Belfast, with the project currently progressing well on site. This is the first of a new breed of test centres for the DVLA in Northern Ireland, which they intended to roll out across the country.

•   We are active in the student accommodation market, and recently completed the new St Thomas Student Accommodation building in Bristol. We contributed to providing 355 rooms along with associated shared student spaces and a staff management suite.

•   We are also currently engaged on multiple framework agreements with the Health Service in Ireland and with St Marys University.

The Future

We are focussed on maintaining client satisfaction and striving to build on our current relationships while developing new partnerships as the opportunities arise. We extend a huge thankyou to all our clients and partners for their continued support, and we will continue to drive the quality of service that we believe stands us apart from our competitors.
